Mirror (programming) In computer programming, a mirror is a reflection mechanism that is completely decoupled from the object whose structure is being introspected. This is as opposed to traditional reflection, for example in Java, where one introspects an object using methods from the object itself (e.g. codice_1).
Introspection illusion When asked what it would mean to be biased, subjects were more likely to define bias in terms of introspected thoughts and motives when it applied to themselves, but in terms of overt behavior when it applied to other people. When subjects were explicitly told to avoid relying on introspection, their assessments of their own bias became more realistic.
Ship of Theseus (film) Dibakar Banerjee said, "Ship of Theseus gave me serious doubts about myself as a filmmaker. I seriously introspected for two-three days about my thinking as a filmmaker... This was one film which captivated you, which held you, which mesmerised you without manipulating even once." He also wrote a favourable review on the film and afforded it much praise, encouraging readers to watch the film twice.
Zen and the Art of Consciousness Peter Fenwick noted how Blackmore's views on the self as a construction make sense of her previous work arguing that near-death experiences are also a construction of the mind. He feels the book "should be compulsory reading for anyone in consciousness studies and certainly on every psychology course" and that if more scientists introspected as Blackmore does, "consciousness research would follow an entirely different and more progressive path."
Windows Vista networking technologies The Next Generation TCP/IP stack connects to NICs via a Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS) driver. The network stack, implemented in codice_1 implements the Transport, Network and Data link layers of the TCP/IP model. The Transport layer includes implementations for TCP, UDP and unformatted RAW protocols. At the Network layer, IPv4 and IPv6 protocols are implemented in a dual-stack architecture. And the Data link layer (also called "Framing layer") implements 802.3, 802.1, PPP, Loopback and tunnelling protocols. Each layer can accommodate Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) shims, which allows packets at that layer to be introspected and also host the WFP Callout API. The networking API is exposed via three components:
History of psychology In 1896, one of Wundt's former Leipzig laboratory assistants, Oswald Külpe (1862–1915), founded a new laboratory in Würzburg. Külpe soon surrounded himself with a number of younger psychologists, most notably Narziß Ach (1871–1946), Karl Bühler (1879–1963), Ernst Dürr (1878–1913), Karl Marbe (1869–1953), and Henry Jackson Watt (1879–1925). Collectively, they developed a new approach to psychological experimentation that flew in the face of many of Wundt's restrictions. Wundt had drawn a distinction between the old philosophical style of self-observation ("Selbstbeobachtung") in which one introspected for extended durations on higher thought processes, and inner perception ("innere Wahrnehmung") in which one could be immediately aware of a momentary sensation, feeling, or image ("Vorstellung"). The former was declared to be impossible by Wundt, who argued that higher thought could not be studied experimentally through extended introspection, but only humanistically through "Völkerpsychologie" (folk psychology). Only the latter was a proper subject for experimentation.
Microsoft SQL Server Master Data Services Master Data Services allows the master data to be categorized by hierarchical relationships, such as employee data are a subtype of organization data. Hierarchies are generated by relating data attributes. Data can be automatically categorized using rules, and the categories are introspected programmatically. Master Data Services can also expose the data as Microsoft SQL Server views, which can be pulled by any SQL-compatible client. It uses a role-based access control system to restrict access to the data. The views are generated dynamically, so they contain the latest data entities in the master hub. It can also push out the data by writing to some external journals. Master Data Services also includes a web-based UI for viewing and managing the data. It uses AJAX in the front-end and ASP.NET in the back-end.
Hanut Singh Rathore Hanut studied in Colonel Brown's School at Dehradun and was brilliant at studies; reading up on Rajput history as a hobby. He joined the first course Joint Services Wing (JSW), which, later, became the NDA. Introspected, he stood out for his Spartan outlook, mental grooming, discipline, intellect and character; unusual qualities in a cadet. He was a Polo 'Blue'. In December 1952, he was commissioned into The Poona Horse, a distinguished Cavalry Regiment which had won four Victoria Crosses since its raising in July 1817. Hanut's father had also served in it on attachment. In a delightful, fascinating biography of Hanut in his book, “Leadership in the Indian Army: Biographies of Twelve Soldiers” Maj Gen VK Singh, Signals, writes about how Hanut modeled himself after the “German General Staff, particularly their total dedication to the profession of arms, and their unmatched expertise in the art of war. He sought to emulate these qualities himself, and motivated other officers in the Regiment to do the same.” He adds that, “as a result, qualities like professionalism, personal rectitude and total dedication to the Regiment and the service became distinctive hallmarks of its officers…” During his time, The Poona Horse, as Hanut himself writes in his wonderfully descriptive and elegant book on its history, developed a spirit over and above its professionalism and élan, which can be described in one word camaraderie a spirit of brotherhood, caring, feeling, and belief that soldiers seek above all.
